SYDNEY, NS— Liberal Leader Bob Rae made the following statement today on the beginning of Ramadan:
“For Muslims across Canada and around the world, the holy month of Ramadan is a time for fasting and spiritual reflection, to commit and recommit to charity, devotion and discipline.
It is a time for all Canadians to appreciate the values that allow us all to celebrate our faith freely and openly in a country of such rich diversity.
On behalf of the Liberal Party of Canada and our Parliamentary caucus, I wish all Canadian Muslims and Muslims around the world a month of peaceful worship.”
